Walking on the fighting side of me
Great. Thx.
Great. Thx
Excellent. Thx.
Best how to boating video on RUclips!
Before you even go to the launch, the day before run your engine for a few seconds, you don't want to find out you have a engine problem when the boat is in the water.
Did they click random and loud for background music?
The trim thing is probably going to help a-lot thanks w video
Oh darn, I thought this was going to be in English
thank you
some let the marines loose follow the star s even into space
Powering on to trailer in NJ USA will get you a ticket.
Thanks for this video--I've been a boater for a long time but I didn't know some of this, and there have been times I wish I'd known it.
THANK YOU for making this boating tutorial. I saw a couple of issues, possibly different in Australia than in the 🇺🇸...In boat basins, (where boats park), there's a law that states NO WAKE. There are also usually floating buoys with NO WAKE written on both sides of a white sign with Red Lettering. So you putt-putt-putt to your destination so it doesn't jostle the boats parked. I watched this video to help me remember the Red "Nun buoy," I think, is on the right, going upstream and the black with white top on the Left. I also was hoping it would show the different types of "Throwables" that were condoned as standard boater's Safety Equipment, the different sizes of Fire Extinguishers that are required for what sized boat, How many paddles to carry and what kind and or made from what, (if it makes a difference), I've heard tell something about a kill-switch you have to have connected to the boat Captain's clothing, and whether its a law to use a boat tie-down STRAP or ROPE. There's nothing about Navigation of rivers nor streams...just sea waters. I realize your area is OCEAN. I appreciate that, as well. I'm STILL LOOKING for my other answers. If you know these answers, and you do make another video, it will be great !!! THANKS AGAIN
In Aus i think there is many things that differ not only from the U.S but from state to state . We have our water ways in classes such as , smooth waters , partially smooth and off shore , our laws change in requirements not only from state to state but also in water class , life jackets kept on board to life jackets must be worn by persons under a certain age to life jackets must be worn at bar crossings by all but can than be taken off . Flare kits for diffrent water classings as well as coms is not something by boat size but by where u intend to take ur boat no mater the size . My state just says a secondary mode of purpolsion - a paddle , ores , elec motor ,a 2 stroke kicker or a twin motor vessel all fit this law , common sence would state u are not going to try and use a paddle on a 30foot boat . Fire fighting equipment is prity much a standard 1kg powder type by law and possiblay a fire blanket if u choose , Each state law is diffrent but in my state all straps need to be load rated and so do chain shackles , previous to that law i always used rope and never had a problem but to stay on the safe side of the law i now use straps . From wat i understand our Nav is diffrent to the U.S , we line our colours up wen comming in from sea -( red to red , green to green ) and wat i have read from folks in the keys area they line there colors up wen heading out to sea . Over here we are to stay on the right hand side of a cannal or narrow river as if it where a road .
er General, not the U. S. more like Canadien to me or some other 3rd world nation. Here in the U. S., we have safety rules about Boating just like your country. Have a nice Day.
Very good video.... for over there...... USA, learn the rule of the road, for USA> Every craft you encounter from straight ahead to 112degreas to the Right.... Has The Right of way over YOU. YEALD TO THEM.!!!
When backing a trailer..... steer with the BOTTOM of the steering wheel. left , makes the trailer go left.....etc....
That's how I was taught and how I teach newer boaters
If we all followed your advise, there’d be hardly any commercial fishing anymore. Most all of us use single engine displacement hulled boat, with a speed of about 8 knots. Cross the bar twice a year when flat calm? We cross every day. Yes, it does push the stern around and could broach you, but you have to stay on top of it, correcting after each wave.
very thorough video. thank you
si levanta mucho la proa poner un saco de arena para estabilizar la barca
siempre proa al mar, la barca de aluminio debe de tener camara de flotacion Nunca poner la barca de costado a las olas
Good video ,,, Love that Texas accent
Thank you for this VERY informational video. I am in my second season of sailing and looking forward to start sailing around the great lakes. -Mark Milwaukee, WI
Same here. In michigan
Excellent brief. Its very usefull to me
What about if you want to go to Hawaii from Australia?
Talk slower man
Nice to have a convenient dock near by down wind from the prevailing breeze.
Some good stuff and some omitted stuff. You talk about magnetic variation, the adjustments are written down per year but you did not mention that at all. If they go straight off a magnetic variation it can be 1,10, 20 or even 30 Degree different depending on the year when the chart was made. If a chart was made in 1991 and It’s variant is 1° every year and the chart said the variation was 10° from when it was made there is an extra 30° to take into account for the magnetic variation. That is a huge difference of direction. If you’re going to teach it, teacher it properly.
That was implied actually. But it was only a 13 minute video, and it’s not expected that one would watch this video and think they now know everything about how to read a chart and compass. If you’re going to comment, say something nice or don’t say anything at all. Or put your own 13 minute video up and see how you go mate if you’re such an expert
@@jasonmitchell4760 I agree, I have no doubt this guy knows what he is talking about. This video isn’t to teach a weekend boater how to shove off in open seas to travel 1500 miles, it’s meant for the guy who loses his gps and needs to understand the basics of getting close enough to home to know where you are
Minutes not degrees
Excellent. Great advice Thankyou
Was about to say "Turn that engine off!" but you addressed it. Regarding driver side, wouldn't the wind be the most important thing? The wind could blow the boat over the top of the MOB?
Excellent video. Thank you. And I used to skipper my own 33ft commercial boat....learned a few things here.
NO BRAKES ...WTHell I guess you got ripped off .
I wish I'd known how simple this was earlier in life :) Going to test it out this weekend.
Great vid guys, very informative and to the point, should be handy for this place, the river Bann bar mouth Northern Ireland
Boating is the best. It's always best when your wife is a boater!!
cant hear a thing
Good informative video. Should e shown to all first time boaties.
how paul got a pay rise
Nuber 2what about sand straightup the intake when driving off trailer the mechanics love you guys
First mistake what holds the jockey wheel in and stops it from killing some one on the road when you hit a bump
Thanks guys just wish we had the weather here in the uk
:P
lol easy with the wind - try against the wind
All it takes is good old fashioned stupidity to do thousands of dollars worth of damage to a perfectly good boat so if you're new to boating do some research before diving right in it's a lot to learn
Thanks. That's a clear tutorial.
Great clip. Very helpful for a novice like me. Thanks.
